Membership

New members are always welcome, just come along to one of our monthly meetings at the RAFA club. You can even 'try us out' for a few months before you decide on joining as an official member. The meetings are informal (there's a bar!) and the club members are (mostly) friendly, approachable and happy to pass on guidance and information to anybody interested in bonsai- whatever your level of experience.

Message from JIm 'the Lad'

Hi All
What can I say!!! So Sorry for missing the last 2 get-togethers,  on the 13th of June with Simon Temblett and the Last Sunday of the Month the 24th of June, needless to say its seems a life time time ago for me and I was hoping to read all about the going on's  and any news about forth coming events on the BLOG that were discussed  on Wednesday the 13th
Why did yours truly miss these 2 Events!!!!

It all started on the Sunday 2 days after we all got back from celebrating the Jubilee at our daughter's Caravan on the 10th June on Sunday that I started with a lump on the side of my right ear followed on the Left side later on and by Monday things got worse and both sides of my head above my ears had large Lumps then Tuesday started getting a headache and the face had swollen so went to the Doctors in Pensby could not get an appointment was told to come back next day Went on Wednesday the 13th with everything worse than the day before and being violently sick a few times, after seeing the doctor I had to go on Holiday to Arrowe Park Hospital with Suspected Meningitis about 10am on13th Wednesday morning  Admitted to the Male Acute Unit and waiting  over 3 1/2 hours before we saw a junior doctor Things got worse over the next few days with tests, injections, X-rays and popping 28 pills a day and 2 courses of antibiotics and on 2 drips

We did not know what was wrong and eventually after a few days was moved to ward 26 (a ward to be avoided at all costs) where we had entertainment day and night with security being called 4 times and a patient grabbing a young lady nurse by the throat during breakfast one morning an elderly Lady walking around looking for her friend that she could not find

In the end after over a week I asked to be allowed home before all the antibiotics had finished the course so pleaded and promising with doctors I got FREE  4 days before I was suppose to be heading home  with STILL no word on what was wrong with me or what caused my Holiday Experience. Got a few gifts from everyone  such as Lots Medication in tablet form ( which my youngest daughter had to go back for as nothing was ready for my Freedom) and discharge notes

At home Anne read the discharge notes and at last we found what was diagnosed and it seems I had a severe case of sinusitis / cellulitis ( how I got this on my face  no-one can tell me) plus a few other things

So that's it for now and a case of taking things easy then back in action with my best mate THE CAMERA on Wednesday the 11th of July enclosing a BILLY NO MATES image of my Holiday adventure

Take care  everyone and see you all soon

Jim  thelad
